Tripartite social dialogue: Legalmax participates in ILO conference
On July 27, the City Palace Tashkent Hotel hosted a conference organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO). The event was dedicated to promoting tripartite social dialogue in Uzbekistan. Legalmax partner Alexey Niyazmetov moderated the conference and delivered a report.
Tripartite social dialogue is the key pillar of ILO activity.
In the process of such a dialogue, the government involves employers and employees to make decisions on issues of interest to them.
As a result, decisions are made with greater responsibility and are more thoughtful and democratic.
Partner and Development Director of Legalmax –as a national consultant to ILO, Alexey Niyazmetov prepared an analysis of the tripartite social dialogue in Uzbekistan with a focus on the activities of tripartite commissions on social and labor issues.
The participants of the conference noted the need to increase the role of tripartite social dialogue and the importance of state participation in its practical implementation, provided an assessment of the regulatory framework in this area, and also discussed the practical work of republican and territorial commissions, as well as the involvement of tripartite partners in their activities.
In addition, they considered practical recommendations for enhancing the activities of territorial commissions, increasing the level of conscious involvement and encouraging the participation of their members.
The conference participants paid special attention to the discussion of the policy of wages and the subsistence rate as an important factor in reducing cases of forced labor and the prohibition of child labor.
